Maryam AlTajer holds a Bachelor and a Master of Fine Arts with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her practice operates in the quiet spaces of human introspection, balancing the tension between what is revealed and what remains hidden, between memory and the present self. Through abstract, illegible Arabic calligraphy and a fluid exploration of material, she dismantles the traditional constraints of language. Text is transformed into pure emotion and presence, and it is primarily felt rather than read, creating contemplative landscapes that open
inward rather than declare outward. Her practice has been shaped by international residencies, exhibitions, and collaborations across the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
