Gigi (b. 2001) is a visual artist based in Doha whose multidisciplinary practice includes oil painting, performance, and staged imagery. Interrogating themes of

psychological presence, vulnerability, and her identity as a progressive Arab woman in a contemporary world, Gigi constructs theatrical, dream-logic scenes that sit between recognition and estrangement. Rather than relying on direct observation, she builds her compositions through intuition, memory, and personal symbolism, resulting in enigmatic spaces that resist linear narrative. Animals - particularly dogs and lambs - frequently appear in her work as psychological proxies for the self, allowing for an indirect exploration of desire, exposure, and emotional depth.

Gigi graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking, minoring in Film and Design, from VCUarts Qatar in 2025. She has completed an international residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and has exhibited her work across prominent regional institutions, including the Fire Station, Katara Art Center, M7, and Marmar Lab in Abu Dhabi. Her deep engagement with the regional arts ecosystem includes an internship at

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, three semesters as a teaching assistant for the Moving Pixels course, and her current role as an exhibitions coordinator with Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar.
